Assignment 5: Algorithmic Bias Reading Response

After I reading this article and combine with the idea with the video we watched before, it reminds me my recent experience. I was wearing black gloves and trying to get some hand senitizer from the automatic hand senitizer dispenser. gusse what? The sensor on the machine cannot sensed my hand and I couldn't get any hand senitizer. I think this one relates to the video regards to facial recognition system. What I understand is the system/sensor can not function correctly when there's not enough light reflection.

Also, this article makes me changing my perception of computer. AI systems is smart, fast but not perfectly fair. I think technicians need to consider more wild range data when we make AI system to minimize the biased possibility. To collect as much as data and keep update lastest data should help it.
